How did I get here?

Where do I even start?

The beginning is too far back, the middle would just be confusing, so let’s start at the end and work backwards.

I am excited to begin a career as a Real Estate Agent, but I am not at the beginning of my professional life. Like many people I know, this year has brought about unexpected changes, challenges and opportunities - and that is how I have chosen to see my transition, as an opportunity. I have been a Flight Attendant, a Catering Director, an Event Manager, a Zipline Guide, a Meeting & Conference Planning Manager and most recently a Senior Event Manager for Conventions of up to 5,000 people. What all these jobs have had in common was that I was merely facilitating a process for a client, a guest, a passenger. It was always my pleasure to provide assistance or helpful expertise to ensure the flight, the party, the meeting or the event was as pleasant as possible for the participants. I feel this will be a skill that I will carry over to my new career. I see my role as providing a service to my clients and facilitating the purchase or sale of their home in the most pleasant way possible, not as a Sales Agent trying to sell you a product. Maybe this mindset will hold me back, or maybe it will propel me forward, but I hope it is a mindset that my clients will appreciate.

I have always LOVED houses. I would draw architectural designs as a kid and every time I drive by a beautiful home, I can’t help but to imagine what it is like on the inside. So, it almost feels like a natural transition to move into this industry. It is something I always thought of in the back of my mind and for no reason at all just never pursued, until now.

I am excited and anxious to really get started! I want to work with buyers and go to 100 showings to find them the RIGHT home for them. I want to help sellers do everything right to get their home sold as soon as it hits the market. I want to learn as much as I can about the industry, new construction, older homes, land, renovation - all of it! While I am still so very new to the industry I am so grateful that I have found myself at White House Realtors with a team so ready and willing to assist me. Brenda Kersey, our Principle Broker, made me feel I was in the right place the first time I met her. Her knowledge and experience will be a benefit not only to me, but to each and every one of my clients. They can have confidence in me knowing that I am under the guidance of a professional agent with 26 years of experience. Not only that, I also have Mike Honeycutt, a lifetime resident of my adopted hometown and a wealth of expertise in the local market. Mike has so graciously welcomed me into his partnerships and allows me to follow him around simply soaking up every bit of nuance needed to be successful in this industry.

Thank you for reading this all the way to the end, if you have been willing to come this far with me, I hope you will continue to follow me on my journey and enjoy the ride!
