Onward & Upward
The internet is alive with ‘Goals for 2022’ posts and new years resolutions and posts looking back of the past year or years and counting blessings. Last year on January 1st I went back through all the photos on my phone and chose my favorite moment from each month – I thought I would do the same this year, but around June of 2021 I managed to accidentally delete all the photos on my phone – everything remaining was photos of my dogs. To be fair, 99% of photos on my phone are the dogs anyway. My point it, 2021 was a blur. I was looking at photos from 2020 and could have sworn those things happened this year…. But I know some things:
I sold five houses. That doesn’t really sound like a lot, and it is true that amount won’t build an empire, but the thing is I ENJOYED my job this year. I made connections with some great people, got more invested in my community. When I go out in my town, I see people I KNOW. For those of you who live and work in your original hometown, which may seem normal, or even annoying – but for those of us who have moved around we know that it is kind of a big deal when that starts to happen. You can finally start to feel like you know your community, like you are a PART of it.
I didn’t start 2021 with a list of goals – other than to focus, do my best and TRY, and I did that. Not only did I do that, I did more.
I joined my community’s Leisure Services Board where I get to serve my town by helping to develop the newest park in White House – a park that will be for the enjoyment of leisure, education and the outdoors and not solely focused on Sporting fields.
I became an ambassador for the White House Area Chamber of Commerce, led by the incomparable Mandy Christenson, who has so much love and passion for our town and its small businesses that it is impossible to not be inspired.
At the suggestion and with the support of the spectacular Stacie BOSS I decided to pursue a Certificate in Personal Training, I passed my test in August and have been leading group fitness classes at Studio BOSS which has both re-inspired my dedication to health and fitness but also allowed me to come out of my shell and get more invested in my friendships at the Studio.
Thanks to the unrivaled understanding of Brian Davis at AdventureWorks, I also get to continue to occasionally lead Zipline tours which I can safely and easily say is the most fun a job can be, with some of the best people in Nashville.
At the very end of 2021, a friend brought an incredible opportunity to my attention. It isn’t official yet, so I don’t want to reveal too much, except to say that I am super excited about a new adventure that could be a short and hectic project or grow into something I cannot even imagine quite yet, and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
I have never had and never will have a 5-year plan, and I am pretty sure that anyone that HAD a 5-year plan in 2018 is 100% not where they thought they would be today. I believe the fastest way to ensure something DOESN’T happen is to plan on it, but my HOPES for this year are as follows:
My hopes for 2022
Continue to gradually grow my real estate business through referrals and make meaningful connections with those I help in their search for the right home or the right buyer.
Explore this new opportunity for all that it is worth and get the most out of it that I absolutely can – whatever that may be.
Continue to instruct, motivate, and coach my incredible friends at Studio BOSS – as well as continue to learn, grown and develop my fitness knowledge and experience,
Visit my family in Florida at least twice, maybe even more!!
See my Cincinnati Girls – doesn’t matter where, doesn’t matter when, doesn’t matter how long – but all my girls in one place.
Go on more adventures with my wonderful, supportive, and incredibly good-looking husband and our fuzzy kids.
So here’s to 2022, Onward and Upward!
